Exhibiting at Photo Art Fair

I'm happy to announce that I have been selected as one of the artists to exhibit their work at the inaugural Photo Art Fair which will be held at Victoria House in London, May 3-6. The focus of the fair is specifically on the work of emerging and undiscovered photographers that have not yet been showing their work extensively in galleries. I've seen a selection of the work that will be on show and it should be a really interesting and eclectic mix of photography carefully put together by the fair's curator Susie Babchick.

I'm showing ten black and white prints from my project Undisclosed (above) about the incredible physical work of circus artists. I will also show two recent pieces from Naturally (below) a project which I'm currently working on.

Cirque de Demain: Undisclosed Exhibition

I have just returned from a snowy and cold Paris and the Cirque de Demain festival where I was presenting an exhibition of prints from Undisclosed. This is, if not the largest, certainly the most important circus festival in the world where around 40 invited young circus art present their acts and receive medals or other prices based on their technical and artistic skills and performance. FotoGrafia di Roma: Photobook exhibition

Doug Stockdale, well-known as the author of the The PhotoBook blog, is curating an exhibition of photobooks on the theme of work for the eleventh edition of Fotografia Festival Internazionale di Roma. The exhibition is at Museo d'arte contemporanea Roma (MACRO) Testaccio and opens tomorrow, September 20th and runs through to October 28th. He selected my book Undisclosed, about the hidden work of circus artists, as one of thirty-five books on show along with a seriously diverse and interesting range of titles including The Black Eye by Michal Chelbin, Sochi Singers by Rob Hornstra, Permanent Error by Pieter Hugo and Redheaded Peckerwood by Christian Patterson.

The exhibition will feature copies of the books that the public will be welcome to handle and experience. Doug also gave all of us photographers an additional task, by asking us to select a favourite spread from our book and re-photographing it for the exhibition. The prints of our re-photographed spreads will be presented along the books and should definitely add an interesting layer and probably reflect something about each photographer and their approach. The photo above is my response.
